When you need a box pad for a single phase transformer and for other pieces of electrical switching equipment, count on the GS-80-36-36-MG-TS (TS-transformer/swith) This workhorse of a box pad does double duty all the time with double 22” x 24” top openings. Underground cables come up from underneath the box pad up into the top openings and into the pad-mounted enclosures. The space inside the box pad also provides a raceway for the cables to go from one enclosure to the other.
The ND-301830-MG-X-L750350P-X is a secondary tap pedestal that can reduce the number of single phase transformers by an average of 3 to 4 units. (See page)
Transformer/Meter/Switch
One complete fiberglass unit that provides a race way between the transformer and meter.
Box pad allows for extra looping of primary and secondary cables.
Easy to handle and lightweight.
Quick installation.

Q. What is net metering? A. “Net-metering” is a simplified method of metering the energy consumed and produced at a home or business that has its own renewable energy generator, such as a small wind turbine. Under net metering excess electricity produced by the wind turbine will spin the existing home or business electricity meter backwards, effectively banking the electricity until it is needed by the customer. This provides the customer with full retail value for all the electricity produced. Without net metering the excess production is sold to the utility at a much lower price. Under existing federal law (PURPA, Section 210) utility customers can use the electricity they generate with a wind turbine to supply their own lights and appliances, offsetting electricity they would otherwise have to purchase from the utility at the retail price. But if the customer produces any excess electricity (beyond what is needed to meet the customer’s own needs), the utility purchases that excess electricity at the wholesale or ‘avoided cost’ price, which is much lower than the retail price. The excess energy is metered using an additional meter that must be installed at the customer’s expense. Net metering simplifies this arrangement by allowing the customer to use any excess electricity to offset electricity used at other times during the billing period. In other words, the customer is billed only for the net energy consumed during the billing period. 1 Sometimes a utility will require an owner’s wind turbine to match up with electric grid system through a step up or step down transformer . The transformer would either be provided by the connecting utility at the generator-owner’s expense, or purchased from the utility, or conform to the connecting utility’s specifications. Nordic Fiberglass brings together the additional meter and single phase transformer onto one platform with either the GS-37-52-15-TMS or the GS-72-40-18-TMS. Utilities and generator owner’s will appreciate the expansive open area in the box pad for extra cable looping. In case of an elbow failure on the primary side of the transformer, the extra cable slack will allow the line-person to quickly detach the elbow and install a new one. 1. http://www.awea.org/pubs/factsheets/netmetfin_fs.PDF
