1. Excavate the hole approximately 2” - 4” deeper than the suggested pedestal burial depth.
2. Compact the soil.
3. Add approximately 2”- 4” of gravel to the bottom of the hole.
4. Compact and level the gravel.
5. Place the pedestal into the hole.
6. Level the pedestal.
7. Back-fill with loose earth material.
8. Do not back-fill with chunks of frozen material or large rocks next to the pedestal.
9. Pack the back-fill material by foot tamping.
