Nordic Fiberglass ground sleeves are designed to accommodate pad mount electrical equipment. The equipment is either bolted through the top surface of the box pad or it is held down with anchor brackets. The large expansive interior of the box pad allows the equipment installer to loop underground cable around the bottom perimeter of the box pad. In times of elbow failure, the extra cable gives the installer enough slack to make a new elbow without having to splice in new cable.
Replacement ground sleeves are designed to go over damaged ground sleeves with none or minimal interruption of electrical service. Once the sectionalizing cabinet is unbolted from the damaged ground sleeve, the RGS’s open front will allow the cables to pass through, then simply bolt the front piece to the ground sleeve and attach the cabinet
Extenders extend the height of a ground sleeve or box pad that has had a upward change in grade level. The extender goes over the installed unit and brings it up another 4”. Bringing up the transformer or another piece of equipment helps to move it away from wet grass and thereby extends the life of the equipment from potential rusting at the base.
The adapter is a fiberglass type cover with a cable entrance. This adapter will accommodate a variety of equipment, for example Nordic sectionalizing cabinets, other metal cabinets. It includes 4 penta-head bolts to bolt to the box pad’s floating nut insert pattern. The top opening has a 2” fiberglass frame around it that can be drilled through for mounting other pieces of equipment.
